The funding the squad received was used to kit out the team with tracksuits, t-shirts and shorts so they looked like a professional team during competitions. By receiving the extra money from the Nolan Charity Fund, money already donated by some of the parents was put towards the purchase of a new laptop for the team.
Since receiving the money, the team has gone on to represent their county, with five members representing Wales and Meurig Francis gaining a place with the Welsh Development Squad. A number of the swimmers have also qualified for the British Finals Championship.
“The benefits of receiving the donation from the Nolan Charity Fund has been immense to the confidence of the team,” says Helen Morgan, who’s daughter Catrin swims for the team.
“The team now all look amazing during competitions and even our coach looks very smart in his team kit. We are very proud to display the Nolan Charity Fund logo on the front of our team’s polo shirts.”
